ten reasons why i never wash. my mother made me wash as a child.

the soap makers only want my money.

there are so many different kinds of soap, i could never decide which one was right.

I had a couple of Soap Sales Ladies come to my door the other day...they said their brand of Soap was better than mine. I told 'em I was happy with my brand since I was familar with their brand and I didn't like the way they were always changing the formula. Anyway, they stuck their foot in the door and insisted that I study Soap ingredients with them. I had to get forceful. I told 'em Mr. Bubble was my Saviour...and to take their SoapBox and get the hell of my property!!

Questions about Athletic Activities while a JW

hi, everyone.. on my researches about the jdubs.

i read that they are restricted or forbidden from engaging in activities such as sports, working out in a gym or in martial arts.. i, who does all three, have a question for the members of this forum:.

when you were a jw, could you do any of the three activities mentioned?.

Nathan is right on about the company line. I remember being told that you didn't need training..just pray and you'll get out of any situation. I believe there's a short line in the Elder's manual about martial arts and Boxing. I was told we should not even watch such things. Well when I got fed up I started Boxing at a gym at the ripe old age of 40+ and I think it helped save my sanity. It gave me an outlet for the unjustice that I received and got me into good aerobic shape...everytime you hit the heavy bag or the speed bag you just envision the faces of the motherf*ckers who f*cked you over and destroyed your family(sorry, it gets personal with me). I remember reading somewhere that the Apostles (I think Paul) was involved in some sort of training...probably wrestling, that was big.

for some odd reason this morning when i woke up the first thing that came into my mind was the suffering and pain that humans deal with on a daily basis.

again i'm not really sure what made me think about that so early in the morning.

(maybe it was a dream i had).

Good points! And, How would we be viewed as parents if our children messed up so we not only condemed them, but also their offspring for thousands of years? It doesn't seem too logical does it? Wasn't logic pounded into our brains by the Borg when it came to the concept of HELL? So He won't burn us, just make the Family suffer for a few thousand years as discipline! It does not seem that the punishment has fit the crime. Thanx.

my question is,if it is true that only j.w's will survive then surely everybody on the planet should at least get the option of becoming a witness,but there are people living in remote parts of the world who rarely come into contact with civilisation,im pretty sure there are still small tribes of people living in some rainforest who haven't even been discovered yet,where do theses people fit in,do they just perish like the rest of us?.

Hello Toddy...
As a lurker for a couple of months and now braving the Posting World, I'd like to respond to that. Nobody here knows my background except for maybe Randy but he doesn't know it's me. That didn't make sense did it. Oh well...I was affiliated for over thirty years and was recently screwed royally by the Elders and then the Brooklyn Boys that I appealed to, and that's all I can say for now. Your question was one I had brounght up over the years and was always told that the "work" did not have to reach everyone. Why? Because Jehovah knows everyones heart, so when Big A gets here and the "work" isn't done, so what, the good-hearted ones will still make it thru and get indoctrinated during the 1000 years. So the big question is, why do this infinetly fun preaching work if HE already knows the heart condition? I was always told it was to show our faith. No it does not make sense...just as it does not make sense that some Moron can die one day before Big A and he'll get ressurected to a possible 2nd chance, while someone else who may be an overall better person will get snuffed at the big Climax. Come on...Hitler gets another chance but the person who devotes his time to a childrens cancer clinic will die because he just didn't get the overall JDub picture! If you live in FantasyLand, You WILL believe in TinkerBell!

Here's the way I heard it came about. God created Man. Man screwed up and sinned. Satan called into question Man's right and ability to rule himself without God's help...and since the Angels were looking on God decided to prove his point. That is: Man cannot rule himself with out screwing up. So he decided to allow millineums of misery for innocent people thruout the ages to suffer because His first Human Creation in the Garden messed up. Now, logically, if you had a child who you caught smoking or worse, is this the way you would punish him and his children and childrens's children?? Maybe that is the correct way to act since we were created in his image. No, we've been logically taught to punish immediately no matter who's looking on. Don't you think that it would have made a great impression on those Angels watching if Jehovah had made crispy critters outa Adam, Eve, Satan, Angels with impure thoughts, snakes in general, etc, etc, right then and there? A fresh start and viola! generations of perfect humans instead of thousands of years and billions of suffering, cluesless humans....that is if you believe any of this crap to begin with. Let's remember that the Org is the one that taught us to think "rationally", that's why we really don't believe there is a center of the earth filled with sinners with heat rash!! But as you already know, what is "rational" with the Org can become irrational at the blink of an eye. (I hope this made sense...it's something that has always bothered me as well as the predetermination)
I used to ask if we didn't get to everyone before Big "A" would those not preached to get destroyed? "No", I was told, "God knows their heart condition." The why go door to door at all? I would get something about proving yourself to God...Yes but he already knows my heart & that I love him ...and this could on and on. Thanks for letting me vent. The more I learn the less I know.
